At one time, Willow Glen was a separate, independent city. In 1936, Willow Glen voted to join San Jose. A visit to Willow Glen is incomplete without visiting La Villa Delicatessen known for their homemade raviolis and Italian cheeses. Also, visitors must drive through the the pristine homes of Palm Haven off of Coe Avenue; this is a prime example of true Willow Glen Homes.
The boundaries of Willow Glen vary depending on who you ask. Diehard residents claim that only the original cottages of Willow Glen
Homes constitute Willow Glen. The Willow Glen Neighborhood Association considers the area within Highway 280, Highway 87, Foxworthy Avenue, and Leigh Avenue.
